He said this at a time when it was recently announced to confer the Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 to Geeta Press. On this Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh had said that it is like awarding Savarkar and Godse. 

Congress hit back
PM Modi in Chhattisgarh’s Raipur after inaugurating and laying the foundation stone of 10 projects worth about Rs 7,600 crore said that he is not afraid because we Has done double the work than Congress. 

Countering PM Modi’s statement, senior Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said that in such a situation why silence on China? Why the silence on Manipur? Why the rampant misuse of ED and CBI? Why silence on rising inflation and unemployment? Why the silence on Modani?

What did PM Modi say in Varanasi?

He said that the spiritual light that was ignited here in 1923 in the form of Geeta Press. Today his light is guiding the entire humanity. It is our good fortune that we all are witnessing the golden century of this humanitarian mission. 

PM Modi said that I am happy that Geeta Press has received this award today. This is the respect of Geeta Press on behalf of the country, respect for its contribution. Its hundred years of heritage is respected. In these hundred years, Gita Press has published crores of books. 

He  said that I had told the Red Fort that it is time to be free from the mentality of slavery and take pride in our heritage. That’s why in the beginning also I said that today the country is moving ahead with both development and heritage, 

Recently, a jury headed by PM Modi had announced the award of Gandhi Peace Prize 2021 to Gita Press. Instituted in 1995 by the Central Government, this annual award carries a cash amount of one crore rupees, a citation, a plaque and an outstanding traditional handicraft or handloom product. 

What did PM Modi say in the election-bound state of Chhattisgarh? 
BJP has stepped up preparations for the Chhattisgarh elections to be held later this year. Targeting the Congress in Raipur, PM Modi said that Chhattisgarh is the state in whose formation the BJP played a major role. The next 25 years are very important for the development of Chhattisgarh, but a huge claw (Congress) has become a wall in front of its development. 

PM Modi said that while accusing the Congress, ‘‘Only the Congress can commit the sin of swearing falsely on Ganga ji. Remember, considering Ganga ji as a witness, he issued a manifesto and claimed that within 10 days he will do this, he will do it. Then the Congress had said big things, but today the memory of the Congress fades as soon as it is reminded of the manifesto.

What did Bhupesh Baghel allege?
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel accused PM Modi of lying during his speech at the rally. Baghel tweeted, “When you came, then the wind of lies started blowing Modi ji. State BJP leaders were continuously misleading the farmers that paddy is procured with the money of the Centre. You are the PM, you know the truth, but you also lied.
